Discover the wonderful wildlife of the Redlands during a free family-day-out at IndigiScapes on Friday 30 September from 10am to 2pm.

Redland City Acting Mayor Wendy Boglary said the event would be a great day of free entertainment and activities for kids of all ages during the September school holidays.

“Come along to Wonderful Wildlife Day and meet some of the creatures that call our bay and shoreline home,” she said.

“Bring your bike helmet or favourite hat to decorate and protect yourself from magpies during swooping season while enjoying the fun-filled ‘Meet our Magpies’ show, which teaches children how to respond to nesting magpies.

“Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy in the gardens or take advantage of the food and drink available for purchase during the event.”

Coinciding with ‘Save the Koala’ month, an annual Australian Koala Foundation awareness campaign highlighting koala conservation, Wonderful Wildlife Day will feature displays from environmental conservation groups highlighting the importance of caring for the local environment.

Cr Boglary said Wonderful Wildlife was part of a great line-up of free or low cost school holiday activities supported by Redland City Council.

“Visit the ‘What’s On’ calendar for more school holiday activities on offer from IndigiScapes, Redland Libraries, Redland Art Gallery and Redland Performing Arts Centre,” she said.
