Adventurers, get ready to gear up as our city once again prepares to transform into a playground of exploration and epic experiences at the second annual Redlands Coast AdventureFest in May.

Redland City Acting Mayor Julie Talty said the city-wide festival would include a wide range of events and activities over 10 days from 15 to 24 May 2026.

“Council has reported that last year’s inaugural event helped to showcase Redlands Coast as an adventure destination, with 75 events and experiences attracting almost 19,000 attendees,” Cr Talty said.

“AdventureFest aims to offer an adventure for everyone, whether as a participant or a spectator.

“This includes events that get your heart racing, such as the Straddie Salute Triathlon Festival, the MG Car Club Speed Hillclimb and Come and Try Dragon Boating.

“There will be arts and culture adventures, including the return of the Water Lantern Festival, and a range of workshops.

“There will be adventures aimed at couples and families, and events that allow people to immerse themselves in nature or indulge their inner foodie.

“The AdventureFest website will be updated regularly as events are confirmed and I encourage everyone who wants to participate to get in early as some events have registration close-off dates.”

Cr Talty said Council would host a free AdventureFest Fun Day at Raby Bay Harbour Park on Saturday 16 May.

“The fun day will include adventure sports demonstrations, entertainment, rides and information stalls,” she said.

“Council will also curate a program of adventures to be held at Redland Art Gallery, Redland Libraries, Redlands IndigiScapes Centre and Redland Performing Arts Centre.”

Economic Development portfolio representative Cr Peter Mitchell said AdventureFest was a wonderful showcase for Redlands Coast.

“Last year’s event attracted more than $3 million in economic benefit to the city through increased visitor spending at local tourism, accommodation, transport and food businesses,” Cr Mitchell said.

“There was overwhelmingly positive feedback with sold out events, including about 5000 people attending Council’s AdventureFest Fun Day.

“There was also a record 4500 attendees at last year’s Straddie Salute, and accommodation on Minjerribah was almost at full capacity.

“It was great to see tourism operators collaborating on new events and experiences and I look forward to seeing what this year’s AdventureFest will deliver for Redlands Coast.”

Events confirmed for this year’s Redlands Coast AdventureFest include:

  • Redlands Coast AdventureFest Fun Day, 16 May
