Nominations for the 2027 Redlands Coast Australia Day Awards are closing soon.
If you know an individual, group or organisation making a positive difference across Redlands Coast, nominate them now for a 2027 Redlands Coast Australia Day Award.
Redland City Acting Mayor Julie Talty said the annual awards, delivered by Redland City Council, provided an opportunity to acknowledge the often-unsung heroes who contribute to the community in meaningful ways.
“Every day there are people in our community who go above and beyond to support others, volunteer their time or achieve excellence in their field,” Cr Talty said.
“This could be an outstanding leader, someone who is excelling in the arts or sport, or a volunteer supporting those in need or working to protect our wildlife or environment.
“The Australia Day Awards are a chance to recognise those outstanding contributions and thank the people who make our community such a vibrant and connected place to live, work and visit.”
Nominations are sought for individuals, groups or organisations that have made a significant contribution to the community during the past year or over a sustained period.
Categories for the 2027 Redlands Coast Australia Day Awards are:
- Citizen of the Year (individual only)
- Organisation of the Year (organisation only)
- Senior Citizen of the Year (individual 65 years and over)
- Young Citizen of the Year (individual 26 years and under)
- Community Spirit Award (individual or organisation).
Nominations close at 11.59pm on Sunday 1 November 2026.
Award recipients will be announced at a special ceremony in January 2027.
