Redlands Coast residents interested in the arts are being encouraged to take up an opportunity to join the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) assessment panel.
Redland City Acting Mayor Julie Talty said some volunteer positions were available on the panel, with Redland City Council accepting expressions of interest in early March.
“Successful representatives are appointed to the RADF panel for a minimum of two years,” Cr Talty said.
“Panel members are selected for their expertise and their understanding of developing the creative industries in the region.”
Panellist responsibilities include attending and participating in RADF assessment meetings, evaluating and providing feedback to grant applicants, promoting the RADF program within local networks, and ensuring that allocated funds align with RADF guidelines and eligibility criteria.
Arts, Culture and Heritage Portfolio representative Cr Paul Bishop said the grants were awarded across two rounds each financial year to support professional and emerging artists and arts workers in the region.
“The program aims to promote access to, and participation in, arts and culture, as well as to empower artists, support collaboration and drive cultural and economic development within Redlands Coast,” Cr Bishop said.
The RADF program is delivered through a partnership between Redland City Council and the Queensland Government.
