A range of important amendments and updates to the current Redland City Plan 2018 (City Plan), together with the water, sewerage and trunk infrastructure plans, are now available for public viewing and submission until 11.59 pm on 29 March 2026.
Redland City Acting Mayor Julie Talty said the updates provided a crucial opportunity to consolidate a range of important amendments and work undertaken over recent years, formally incorporating them into the current City Plan and its supporting documents.
Key changes include:
- An updated Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP), a statutory review of trunk infrastructure planning.
- An updated Netserv plan, outlining the water and wastewater infrastructure strategy.
- Amendments to the City Plan covering residential and non-residential planning issues, zoning changes and dwelling provisions.
“The LGIP forms part of the City Plan, identifying future shared infrastructure requirements, based upon expected planning growth and development,” Cr Talty said.
Council must review the LGIP every five years.
“The Netserv Plan outlines how water and wastewater services will be provided and managed to support the future community growth under the City Plan,” Cr Talty said.
“These updates give a clear snapshot of planned trunk infrastructure upgrades based on projected population growth.”

Planning and Regulation Portfolio Representative Councillor Rowanne McKenzie said some planning amendments had been in limbo due to delays in State assessment and new State planning announcements.
“Several earlier amendments were withdrawn at the Council’s General Meeting on 15 October 2025 after the State Interest Review took longer than expected and interim policy changes occurred,” Cr McKenzie said.
“The proposed amendments to the City Plan reflect current Council policy and address both identified issues and identified opportunities.”
Industry and the community are now invited to view the documents online on the Your Say Redlands Coast website, yoursay.redland.qld.gov.au, or via the following links:
