Sandbag stations are also open at the following island locations:

Please note, enclosed shoes must be worn at all Council sandbag stations. Maximum of 10 bags per vehicle.

Information on all active sandbag stations on Redlands Coast is available on the Disaster Dashboard, where you also can opt in to receive Redlands Coast Alerts.

Sandbags can be re-used as long they haven’t been contaminated by floodwater, oil, sewage or other contaminants.

Any leftover sandbags should be stored in a dry place out of the sun to prepare for future weather events, as wet or damp sandbags can rot.

For more information about sandbags, including storage, disposal and how to use, visit the disaster plan website: Sandbags and sandbag stations | Redlands Disaster Plan.

Council reminds residents that information on how to prepare yourself, your family, and your pets during severe weather events is available on the Queensland Government’s Get Ready Queensland website: Home | Get Ready Queensland.

Residents are also encouraged to prepare an emergency kit with essentials such as medications, legal papers, first aid, a battery-operated radio, batteries, pet food, money and a torch.
