Applications are now open for round one of Redland City Council’s 2023-24 Sponsorship Program.

Mayor Karen Williams said the program provided funding and value in-kind support for a variety of events and initiatives on Redlands Coast.

“Council offers two rounds of sponsorship each year to help local organisations, community groups and individuals holding activities that deliver benefits to our community,” Cr Williams said.

“These activities can include everything from expos and conferences to sporting, cultural and music events and festivals.

“In addition, funding is also available to support Quandamooka cultural awareness and inclusion activities such as dancing, cultural demonstrations and smoking ceremonies (pictured) at sponsored events.

“Council is proud to support our local community in delivering events that not only appeal to our residents but will attract visitors to our beautiful city.

“I encourage all event and activity organisers to consider applying for this support.”

Cr Williams said Council sponsorship could also include requests for value in-kind support such as venue hire, temporary entertainment event permit fee, traffic control permit fee, or marketing and promotion.

Applications are open for minor sponsorship up to $15,000, major sponsorship from $15,001 to $30,000, and Quandamooka Cultural Awareness Funding of up to $1,500.

Applications close on 13 August 2023.

A second round of sponsorship will open on 5 February 2024.
