Redland City Mayor Jos Mitchell is on leave until mid-June, with Deputy Mayor Julie Talty as Acting Mayor during this time.

Cr Talty, on behalf of Redland City Council and Councillors, extended best wishes to the Mayor.

“We know this period of leave was unexpected and our priority is to ensure the Mayor has the time and privacy needed to focus on her wellbeing,” she said.

Cr Talty said arrangements were in place to ensure stability and service continuity across Council.

“I have full confidence in our Council staff and Councillor team, who remain focused on managing all matters required in Council’s day-to-day business as we continue to deliver for our community,” she said.

“As always, our Councillor cohort is working to assist Council, and we are happy to do so in support of the organisation and the community.

“Out of respect for the Mayor’s privacy, neither Councillors nor the organisation will be commenting on any personal matters pertaining to the Mayor, and we appreciate the community’s and the media’s understanding in this.”
