Work to replace fire-damaged playground equipment at Thornlands Community Park is underway and is expected to be completed in time for the Easter school holidays.
Repair works started today (Monday 4 March) and are expected to be completed by 26 March, weather permitting.
Repairs will include the reinstatement of climbing play equipment, a plastic slide, central basket, net bridge, rubber softfall, shade sail and garden areas.

The playground equipment was damaged by fire in September last year.
The delay in progressing the works was due to the long lead time for the delivery of the replacement equipment.
The playground will be repaired to look exactly as it did when the park opened in 2020.
Redland City Council signage and temporary fencing will remain in place around the damaged play equipment until repairs are completed.
Other areas of the park – including the kick about open space, fitness equipment, public toilets and barbecue – will remain open as usual during this period.
Residents should report vandalism to Queensland Police Service via Policelink (131 444) or online, and inform Council of damage to Council-owned facilities on 3829 8999.
