Tickets are now on sale for Redlands Coast’s five-day community Christmas celebration, Christmas on the Coast, from 15-19 December 2021 at Cleveland’s Raby Bay Harbour Park.

Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said this year’s special event included an exciting program of festivities combining the annual lighting of the city’s Christmas tree and carols concert.

“Each night there will be live stage performances by some of Redlands Coast’s talented singers and entertainers, as well as Christmas activities and rides,” Cr Williams said.

“It will be very family friendly and a lot of fun, with a range of local food trucks and market stalls also helping to make it a great evening out.

“The event is a way of thanking our community for the role everyone has played in helping to safeguard each other after another COVID-affected year, and to wish you all a Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year.”

Christmas on the Coast is a ticketed event with a maximum of 2000 people each day, and bookings are essential. Council will follow Queensland Health directions in relation to the vaccination requirements for events.

Cr Williams said that proceeds from ticket sales would go towards helping others who were less fortunate.

“Tickets, which are $5 per person with 12 years and under free, will also entitle you to free train travel to the event,” Cr Williams said.

“And by attending you will be helping local causes such as domestic and family violence support services, with proceeds going to community organisations in desperate need of financial support.

“The event will show off the wonderful spirit of community that we have here and, to build on that, I also encourage you to ‘buy local’ wherever possible this Christmas as it will do much to help ensure a bright start to 2022 for our community by supporting local employment.

“So keep an eye on Council’s website redland.qld.gov.au/Christmas for the latest details of how you and your families can be part of the big celebration.”
