Actor/writer Bryan Brown is returning to Redlands Coast.
Not only has he been filming on North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) in recent years, but he’s one of the topline authors taking part in Redland City Council Libraries’ upcoming Star-Studded Spring series of author talks.
Redland City Mayor Jos Mitchell said it was great to be able to welcome Brown back to the city.
He will be at Cleveland Library on Saturday, 8 November, to talk about his latest crime novel The Hidden.
“Bryan Brown was last in the city filming scenes for the second season of the popular drama series Darby and Joan on Minjerribah in June last year, following filming around Cylinder Beach for season one in September 2021,” the Mayor said.

“He is a much loved iconic Aussie actor and an accomplished writer, and it will be a great opportunity to hear about his latest work.”
Brown is not the only actor currently on TV screens who will take part in the Star-Studded Spring series – NCIS Sydney and The Newsreader star William McInnes will be at Victoria Point Library on Saturday, 25 October.
McInnes was first published in 2005, not long after he made his two-year return to Blue Heelers as show favourite Senior Constable Schultz.
His latest book is It’s a Scorcher!: Tales of the Australian Summer.
Other well-known authors joining the Star-Studded Spring series are local writer Heather Morris (The Tattooist of Auschwitz), Judy Nunn (Black Sheep, Pilbara) and Peter FitzSimons (The Battle of Long Tan, The Legend of Albert Jacka), while Brisbane’s ‘historian of haunting’ Jack Sim (The Ghosts of Boggo Road Gaol) will give a Halloween talk at Capalaba Library on the night of 30 October.
