Council operations for Labour Day public holiday

Essential Redland City Council services and many organisational services will continue operating on the Labour Day public holiday on Monday 4 May.

Bins will continue to be collected, parks will continue to be maintained and essential compliance services will be active.

The animal shelter and visitor information centre will both be open with varied hours.

Council offices and customer service centres

Redland City Council offices and customer service centres will be closed on Monday 4 May.

For council-related emergencies, please phone 3829 8999.

Council’s online services will be available at redland.qld.gov.au to:

  • report non-urgent issues
  • register an animal or update animal details
  • view your rates notices or change your address
  • conduct property searches, lodge a development application or a submission against an application
  • pay bills online – such as rates notices, animal registration and infringement notices.

Libraries

All Council libraries will be closed on Monday 4 May. During these times, no library items will be due.

Access to eBooks, eMagazines, eAudiobooks, digital newspapers and streaming music, movies and TV shows will be available via the Council libraries’ Digital Library.

The 24/7 Library Lockers outside Cleveland Library will be available to collect reserved items.

Redlands IndigiScapes Centre

Redlands IndigiScapes Centre, IndigiCafe, the Native Nursery and Botanic Gardens will all be closed; the walking tracks will remain open.

Aquatic centres

Cleveland Aquatic Centre will be open on the public holiday. Contact the centre for further details.

Bay Islands Aquatic Centre on Russell Island will be open. Information on opening hours is available on Council’s website.

Bin collections

All bin collections will continue as usual.

Please note there will be no bin deliveries or exchanges on public holidays. Report any missed services on 3829 8999.

Recycling and Waste Centres

All mainland and island Recycling and Waste Centres will be open.

Residents should check the website for all opening times.

Redland Animal Shelter

The Redland Animal Shelter will be open on Monday 4 May from 9am to 12pm.

The shelter can be contacted on 3829 8663 during opening hours and on 3829 8999 after hours.

Redland Performing Arts Centre

Redland Performing Arts Centre box office will be closed on Monday 4 May.

Redland Art Gallery

Redland Art Gallery, Cleveland will be closed on Monday 4 May.

Redlands Coast Visitor Information Centre

The centre at 50 Middle Street, Cleveland will be open on Monday 4 May.
