A fire continues to burn at 18 Mile Swamp, near Blue Lake on the eastern side of North Stradbroke Island and is currently located in the vicinity east of Enterprise Mine.
There are no immediate threats to townships.
Water bombing and backburning is expected to continue for several days. Currently the fire continues to burn in a southerly direction down the eastern side of the island in the largely inaccessible swamp.

Emergency services personnel are focused on possible changing weather conditions over the coming days, including increased temperatures and winds.
Winds are currently blowing from the north, however there is a forecast for a change of wind direction to coming from the south-east early Monday morning, which could impact the direction of the fire towards Dunwich.
There is also a forecast of increased temperature and stronger winds for tomorrow, Sunday 2 December, however the direction of the winds is forecast to remain the same as current (from the north) tomorrow.
A fire ban for Redlands Coast has currently been extended until 11.59pm on Sunday 2 December. It is likely this will be extended.
There is no camping at Main Beach and the beach is closed south of Alfred Martin Way.
All internal walking tracks within national parks on the island are temporarily closed due to the risk of wildfires.
Exercise caution when travelling around the island and do not enter closed areas. Do not ignore road closures signs. It is unlawful and dangerous to do so.
Energex yesterday brought five generators to the island as a precaution.

Protect yourself from smoke.
- minimise your physical activity outdoors. People with pre-existing lung or heart conditions, in particular, should rest as much as possible and keep away from the smoke
- when indoors, keep the windows and doors closed. If you have an air conditioner, turn it on and switch it to ‘recycle or re-circulate’
- if your home gets too hot for comfort or is letting in a lot of smoky air, try to visit an air-conditioned community library or shopping centre (if it is safe to do so)
- when indoors, avoid other sources of air pollution including smoke from cigarettes and woodstoves
- if there is a break in smoky conditions, take the opportunity to ventilate your home to improve indoor air quality
- anyone with a lung or heart condition should keep at least seven days worth of medication on hand. Those with asthma should follow their personal asthma treatment plan
- anyone experiencing breathing problems or chest should seek medical advice immediately
- individuals who are particularly sensitive to smoky conditions should consider temporarily moving away from the smoke-affected area and staying with a friend or relative.
