Tickets are now on sale for the 24th Redland City Mayoral Chaplaincy Prayer Breakfast to be held on Thursday 20 August 2026.

Acting Mayor Julie Talty said the event played an important role in supporting chaplaincy programs in local state schools, with proceeds helping to fund services that positively impact students, staff and families.

“Each year, chaplains provide valuable pastoral care and well-being support to around 15,000 local students,” Cr Talty said.

“Since 2013, the Redland City Mayoral Chaplaincy Prayer Breakfast has raised more than $260,000 to support these programs.

“This outstanding result reflects the generosity and commitment of everyone who has attended or supported the event over the years.”

Cr Talty said school chaplains played a vital role in helping young people navigate challenges, build resilience and reach their full potential, both academically and personally.

“Chaplains provide support during difficult times, including bereavement, family breakdown and other crisis situations, while also fostering positive social connections and self-esteem,” she said.

“The benefits of chaplaincy extend beyond students, providing valuable support for families and school staff as well.”

The Redland City Mayoral Chaplaincy Prayer Breakfast will feature entertainment and the presentation of the annual Pastor Glen Gray Award, which recognises a local chaplain who has demonstrated significant support to students, parents and school staff.

Businesses and organisations are encouraged to support the event, with a range of sponsorship opportunities available.
