Not-for-profit organisations can apply for funding to help them deliver events and activities on Redlands Coast during Queensland Youth Week 2026.

Redland City Mayor Jos Mitchell said funding was available through Council’s Activate Redlands Coast Youth Week Program for free or low-cost events being held from 11 to 19 April 2026.

“Queensland Youth Week provides an opportunity to celebrate young people living on Redlands Coast,” the Mayor said.

“Council supports this initiative each year by providing funding to empower community, youth and sporting organisations to deliver events, workshops and other activities for young people aged 12 to 25.

“These events provide a great opportunity for young people to participate in activities they may not usually be able to access due to cost or other factors.

“In recognition that the cost of delivering events has increased, Council has increased the maximum amount organisations can apply for, from $2000 to up to $5000.”

The Mayor encouraged all eligible organisations to consider applying for funding through the Activate program.

“Last year, funding was awarded for events as diverse as a tennis festival, gymnastics and outrigging come and try days, archery, pickleball, a weaving workshop, GamerCon, a ColourXplosion Fun Run, and an alternative music and culture festival,” the Mayor said.

“It would be great to see another exciting and diverse line-up of activities for Youth Week 2026.”

Applications close on Sunday 15 February 2026.

Further information, including eligibility criteria and how to apply, is available on Council’s website.

The Activate Redlands Coast Youth Week program is an outcome of the Redlands Coast Young People’s Action Plan 2024–2027, to encourage young people to connect with local service providers.
