Community groups with an urgent need and organisers of large-scale community events can now access funding through Redland City Council’s new grants program.
Applications are open for the Rapid Response Grant and Signature Events Attraction and Retention Fund as part of the new Events on Redlands Coast and Stronger Communities programs.
Redland City Mayor Jos Mitchell said Council had revamped its grants and sponsorship program to ensure it met current needs within the community.

“The new funding programs will support the community in the delivery of events that enhance the vibrancy of our region and in the provision of services to support the wellbeing of people of all ages and abilities across the city,” the Mayor said.
“They also align closely with Council’s strategic direction outlined in the current Corporate Plan and its focus on areas such as strong communities, thriving economy and Quandamooka Country.”
Rapid Response Grants are designed to help community groups who are facing an urgent need or looking to strengthen how they operate.
Funding from $500 to $3000 is available for community-focused activities such as volunteer support, website updates and digital improvements, governance and planning, wildlife care support and small portable equipment purchases for community benefit.
The Signature Events Attraction and Retention Fund supports large-scale, professionally delivered events that have been successfully held for at least two years.
Eligible events must demonstrate clear commercial benefits to the Redlands Coast region.
Applicants may request up to $60,000 per financial year, for a period of up to three years.
Additional funding of up to $1500 is available to support Quandamooka cultural awareness and inclusion activities, such as performances by Quandamooka dancers, cultural demonstrations and smoking ceremonies at funded events or activities.
Applications for both funding streams are open until 30 April 2026 or until funds are exhausted.
The application dates for the other funding streams under the new grants program are:
- Community Celebration Grant – up to $15,000 – from 9 February to 8 March
- Community Support Grant – up to $20,000 – from 23 February to 22 March
- Event Grant – up to $20,000 – from 9 March to 4 April
- Build and Thrive Grant – up to $85,500 over three years – from 23 March to 19 April.
