If you know someone doing extraordinary things on Redlands Coast, consider nominating them for a 2026 Redlands Coast Australia Day Award.

Redland City Mayor Jos Mitchell said the awards recognised individuals and community organisations who have made outstanding contributions to the community.

“So much of what makes Redlands Coast special is its people – whether they are a volunteer supporting those in need or working for our wildlife or environment, someone dedicated to bringing our community together, an outstanding leader or someone who is excelling in the arts or sport,” the Mayor said.

“Some of these people may be well known and highly visible, but others may be less obvious as they work behind-the-scenes.

“The Redlands Coast Australia Day Awards provide a great opportunity to recognise these people and show them how much they are valued and appreciated.

“There are nine award categories recognising contributions that are important to our community, so I encourage everyone to have a think about someone they may know who is deserving of recognition in one of these areas.

“Nominations can be made online through the Awards page on Council’s website, but you must nominate by Friday 14 November 2025.”

The nine categories for the Redlands Coast Australia Day Awards are:

  • Citizen of the Year (18 years and over)
  • Senior Citizen of the Year (60 years and over)
  • Young Citizen of the Year (30 years and under)
  • Local Hero Award
  • Community Organisation Award
  • Cultural Award
  • Environment and Sustainability Award
  • Sports Award
  • Reconciliation Award.

Information on each category and how to submit a nomination is available on Council’s website.

Finalists will be notified and invited to attend the 2026 Redlands Coast Australia Day Awards ceremony, to be held in January 2026.
