The community and stakeholders are invited to have their say on a Redland City Council draft transport strategy that provides a blueprint for managing access and parking as Redlands Coast prepares for future growth.
Mayor Jos Mitchell said the Draft Redlands Coast Access and Parking Strategy was open for comment from today until 31 August, 2025.
“This is the third in a series of strategies relating to transport that we are taking to the community for their input,” the Mayor said.

“As our city needs change, we also have to consider changes to our local transport network.
“Council’s Access and Parking Strategy suggests destinations can be made more inviting and safer for pedestrians, cyclists, and people with disabilities, while also improving access for drivers through well-managed parking areas.
“Allocating space for public transport, drop offs and ride share may further enhance access and encourage greater use of these modes.”
The Draft Redlands Coast Access and Parking Strategy was endorsed by Council at the June General Meeting this year.
Transport Portfolio Representative Councillor Shane Rendalls said the draft strategy was about giving people better choices and making sure the city’s destinations were safer, more inviting, and easier to access by all modes of transport.
“The strategy seeks ways to improve the efficiency of car parking in the city to reflect people’s access needs,” Cr Rendalls said.
“I encourage all residents and visitors to our city to go online, read the draft strategy, and give us your comments.”
Community consultation has now closed on the Draft Cleveland Centre Local Area Transport Plan 2025–2046 and the citywide Draft Redlands Coast Active Transport Strategy 2025–2046.

Where else: You can also fill out physical surveys at all Council Libraries including the islands, or Council’s Customer Services Centres in Cleveland, Capalaba and Victoria Point.
