Redland City Council is excited to support community organisations and economic development through six new grants to help with projects, events and infrastructure upgrades.
Acting Mayor Julie Talty said the revamped grants program offered new funding streams to meet the needs of the community.
“The Events on Redlands Coast and Stronger Communities programs support the community in delivering events and providing services that not only enhance our region but support wellbeing for people of all ages and abilities,” Cr Talty said.

“There are funding streams that support large multi-year infrastructure projects, small-scale local celebrations that foster inclusion and cultural diversity, and environmental or governance projects.
“There are also Rapid Response Grants to help with an urgent community need.
“Four of the funding programs are accepting applications now, with another to open for applications on 23 March.
“Council is currently assessing applications for Community Celebration grants, which closed on 8 March.”
Cr Talty said more than $13,600 in Rapid Response Grants had already been awarded to six groups.
“This includes funding for both community groups and sporting organisations,” she said.
“Funded activities range from cultural awareness education and suicide alertness training for volunteers through to computerisation of records, training for rugby union coaches, a replacement fridge and new equipment.”
Redland City Council grant programs
Community Support Grants help organisations to deliver projects that provide opportunities to meet social, cultural, recreational or environmental outcomes for the community.
Funding is available up to $20,000. Applications close on 22 March.
Events Grants assist organisations to host multi-year, medium-scale events that benefit the broader community while encouraging economic activity.
Applicants may request up to $20,000 per financial year for up to three years. Applications close on 4 April.
Build and Thrive Grants assist community groups with large or multi-year projects that support long-term viability and improve public infrastructure.
Applicants can request up to $85,500 in total funding over three years. Applications open on 23 March and close on 19 April.
Rapid Response Grants help community groups who are facing an urgent need or looking to strengthen how they operate.
Funding from $500 to $3000 is available for community-focused activities such as volunteer support, website updates and digital improvements, governance and planning, wildlife care support and small portable equipment purchases for community benefit.
Applications close on 30 April or until funds are exhausted.
The Signature Events Attraction and Retention Fund supports large-scale, professionally delivered events that have been successfully held for at least two years.
Applicants may request up to $60,000 per financial year for a period of up to three years. Applications close on 30 April or until funds are exhausted.
Additional funding of up to $1500 is available to support Quandamooka cultural awareness and inclusion activities, such as performances by Quandamooka dancers, cultural demonstrations and smoking ceremonies at funded events or activities.
