Redland City Council advises caution when visiting Redlands Coast parks, playgrounds and other open spaces as the clean-up continues in the wake of Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
Capalaba Regional Park remains closed, as are all tracks and trails in conservation areas.
All other parks, playgrounds and open spaces are open, but visitors are urged to proceed with caution and stay away from any hazards such as fallen branches and be aware of loose or hanging branches.

Fallen trees, branches and debris has been a common occurrence in most parks and open spaces on Redlands Coast as a result of Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
Other damage includes:
- Damaged shade sails in 22 locations,
- Damage to fencing from flood waters or fallen trees in four locations,
- Damage to boardwalks and shelters in three locations, and
- 13 other instances where minor infrastructure has been damaged such as seats and tables, barbecues and softfall.
Council’s Parks Team has attended more than 80 locations to make the spaces safe, removing tree debris and damaged shade sails and infrastructure such as seats.
Council crews and contractors have also been working along tracks and trails in conservations areas, but there is still a lot of tree clearing required and rain has left the trails wet and muddy.
All tracks and trails remain closed for everyone’s safety.
Many parkrun events usually held on Redlands Coast have been cancelled this weekend, due to conditions. Please check the parkrun website, at parkrun.com.au/cancellations, for an updated list of cancellations.
Council crews will continue to assess all parks and open spaces and schedule repairs.
