“We acknowledge this period of leave has been extended, and arrangements are in place across the organisation to ensure stability and continuity of service.”

Cr Talty said Council’s Special Meeting to decide the 2026–2027 Budget would proceed as scheduled on 30 June.

“Our Council staff and Councillor team remain focused on managing Council’s day-to-day business and delivering for our community,” she said.

“Out of respect for the Mayor’s privacy, neither Councillors nor the organisation will be commenting on any personal matters, and we appreciate the community’s and the media’s understanding in this.”
