The temporary COVID-19 testing clinics located at the Russell Island Recreation Hall and Macleay Island Community Hall will close at 4pm today, Wednesday 9 September.
Mater Pathology will continue to provide COVID-19 testing at the following locations this Thursday and Friday.
- Russell Island: 7.30am – 3.00pm at 2 Alison Crescent, Russell Island
- Macleay Island: – 7.30am – 3.00pm at 14 Brighton Road, Macleay Island.
From Monday (14 September), COVID-19 testing will resume at the following locations:
2 Alison Crescent, Russell Island
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday – 7.30am – 2.00pm
- Tuesday and Thursday – 7.30am – 11.30am
14 Brighton Road, Macleay Island
- Monday to Friday – 7.30am – 2.00pm
Please note that commencing Monday 14 September, any person attending these clinics will require a referral. If your appointment with your doctor is via telehealth, please request they send the referral form to [email protected], alternatively you can print the referral form and bring it to your COVID-19 test.
If you are unwell or are unable to travel to your local testing centre, please discuss with your doctor what alternative options for testing are available to you.
It is important that our residents remain vigilant for any COVID-19 symptoms, if you develop any of these symptoms, no matter how mild, you should organise to get tested. Symptoms include:
- Fever (37.5 degrees or higher)
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Shortness of breath
- Runny nose
- Fatigue
- Loss of smell and/or taste.
It is important that any person who gets tested travels directly to their home and remains in isolation, this includes not attending, work, school or any social activities.
If your test result is negative, you receive a SMS text message. If you do not have a mobile, you will be contacted by Mater Pathology. If your test result is positive, you will be contacted by Public Health who will advise you on what steps to take next.

Residents are advised to continue monitoring the Public Health Contact Tracing Alert which identifies locations where a confirmed case of COVID-19 has visited. Any person who has attended these locations during the identified time should monitor their health for COVID-19 symptoms.
