Redland City Council and Redland Performing Arts Centre (RPAC) are once again proud to be part of the Access All Areas Film Festival, which is an annual FREE event bringing accessible screenings of the best Australian films to venues around Australia.
The Access All Areas Film Festival will take place at Redland Performing Arts Centre on Thursday 4 December.
Council’s Community and Cultural spokesperson Cr Lance Hewlett said “Access All Areas would make one of life’s simple pleasures accessible to everyone.”

“Watching a movie on a big screen is something many take for granted, yet many Australians are excluded from the experience due to accessibility issues,” Cr Hewlett said.
“Access All Areas Film Festival raises awareness of issues surrounding ability and access and we are honoured to hold a screening at RPAC, which is a wheelchair accessible venue with a hearing loop.
“The films on show are a great way to get a couple of hours of free, high-quality and diverse entertainment.
“We’d love to see people of all ages and abilities at the screenings- tickets are free, but places are limited and need to be booked in advance through RPAC’s ticketing office.”
Access All Areas screenings on 4 December at RPAC are as follows:
• 11.00am Family-Friendly Short Films (PG) approx. 60 mins.
A family-friendly program of award-winning Australian short films. This year the program includes titles such Gallant Captain, My Country, Barbouillageville and many more of the best new Australian short films. These ‘shorts’ will delight film lovers of all ages and will be played with open captions and audio descriptions.
• 12.30pm Feature Film Tracks (M) approx. 112 minutes
The feature film Tracks is the incredible true story of Robyn Davidson, a young woman who in 1977 undertook a perilous solo trek across 2,700km of stunning Australian outback. With only her dog and four unpredictable camels for company, she embarks on an inspiring and life changing journey of self-discovery. Screened with open captions and audio descriptions.
Free tea/coffee and a biscuit will be available in the Concert Hall foyer from 12.00 noon to 12.30pm. The Sundial Cafe cart will also be open on the plaza.
Access All Areas Film Festival is run by non-profit company The Festivalists as part of the Don’t DIS my ABILITY campaign. All tickets are FREE but places must be reserved in advance.
