Emergency Services are maintaining the existing advice not to travel to the island for non essential travel, with a review to occur at 7am tomorrow.
This is because of issues including firefighter safety as a large number of operational firefighter crews are working along East Coast road in trucks and on foot in smoky conditions.
Redland City Council crews are also currently removing burnt out trees that may create a falling hazard on to roadways.

The smoke is also an issue for public safety on the roads and there is potential for issues related to a storm expected this afternoon. Wind changes could result in embers flying to the other side of the road.
Emergency services are working towards being open for business as soon as possible.
People should check with the accommodation provider and be aware of possible road closures when the advisory is lifted.
Brown Lake, Blue Lake and Keyholes are closed. There are also travel restrictions on the island, with Alfred Martin Way to stay closed until further notice.
Camping on Main Beach remains closed.
An emergency situation still exists and a Public Safety Preservation Act order remains for the island.
