Five Queensland Fire and Emergency Services – QFES crews remain on scene at a large bushfire burning within Tim Sheas Wetland Reserve, Macleay Island.

Firefighters have contained the blaze, which broke out earlier this afternoon. Crews will monitor the fire overnight. There is no threat to property at this time.

Residents will be affected by a smoke haze throughout the evening and are advised to close windows and doors, and keep medications close by if suffering a respiratory condition. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.
