Expressions of Interest are now open for community groups and charitable organisations wishing to become charity partners for the inaugural Redland City Mayor’s Christmas Appeal.

Mayor Jos Mitchell said the Appeal aimed to bring the community together and make it easier for residents to support those in need during the festive season.

“The Mayor’s Christmas Appeal is all about uniting our community and providing a simple way for people to donate directly to help others,” the Mayor said.

“Every contribution will help make Christmas a little bit brighter for vulnerable individuals and families across our city.”

The Appeal is seeking two community-focused charity partners to facilitate online donations.

Eligible organisations must be registered charities, capable of establishing a dedicated online donation page for the Appeal, and able to issue tax-deductible receipts.

“It is also important that 100 per cent of the funds raised through the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal go to projects or programs that benefit Redlands Coast residents, particularly those impacted by domestic and family violence, homelessness or other forms of hardship,” the Mayor said.

Charity partners will be selected through a random draw from all eligible organisations that meet the assessment criteria and terms outlined in the online Expression of Interest (EOI) form.

Full eligibility details and submission requirements are available via the Expression of Interest submission form, which is available at redland.qld.gov.au. Applications close at 11.59pm on Thursday 6 November 2025.

Details on how the community can donate to the 2025 Redland City Mayor’s Christmas Appeal will be announced in late November.

Redland City Council will also continue its partnership with STAR Community Services, supporting their annual Secret Santa for Seniors by providing drop-off points for the donation of goods at Capalaba, Cleveland and Victoria Point Libraries.
