The mains water supply at Victoria Point shopping precinct has been shut off due to a major water main break that was located on Sunday 30 March near the Cleveland-Redland Bay Road and Bunker Road, Victoria Point intersection.

However, Council organised water tankers to be onsite near the shopping centres on Monday, supplying water to all businesses by Monday afternoon while works continued.

Council is working with Victoria Point Shopping Centre management and impacted businesses within the entire precinct for the duration of repairs and until mains water supply is restored.

Council’s City Water crews have been working since Saturday night to locate, identify and repair the major and complex break, with the mains water supply expected to be restored to the entire shopping precinct by Tuesday morning, pending no further complications.

Works are underway to repair a major water main break at Victoria Point

Some surrounding residents may experience changes in water colour, which can occur from network configuration changes, however supplied water quality continues to meet Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.

Residents who have any concerns about their water should contact Council on 3829 8999 or visit Council’s website or Facebook page for updates.

For more information on water quality, visit Council’s website.
