If you’re looking for something different to give this Christmas, the perfect present could be right in your own back yard.

Redland City Mayor Jos Mitchell has encouraged residents to give the gift of a Redlands Coast experience this Christmas.

“We have some amazing experiences on offer on Redlands Coast and I urge residents to share them with others this Christmas,” the Mayor said.

“There are many local operators who are drawing visitors to our city by offering exceptional customer experiences, which in turn boosts our economy and ultimately creates more local employment opportunities.

“Many operators offer unique services and products, and I encourage you to try and support our local businesses.”

Here are some experience ideas to get you going. We like to call them the Festive Five:

  1. Showtime – Give the experience of arts and entertainment with gift vouchers available through the Redland Performing Arts Centre Box Office. Vouchers are valid for three years from date of purchase and can be redeemed for Redland Art Gallery workshops and 2026 RPAC performances, which include: 360 Allstars urban circus, comedians Ross Noble and Dave Hughes, and singer Casey Donovan. See the full program at rpac.com.au
  2. Chow time – With craft beer breweries, a five-star winery, a never-ending café trail and dedicated dining hubs, Redlands Coast offers a buffet of culinary delights. Grab a gift voucher for harbourside or lakeside dining options and your present recipient will experience the joy of fresh, local produce and seafood.
  3. Dreamtime – Give someone the opportunity to immerse themselves in Quandamooka culture. There are several guided tours and experiences on North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) that will help you discover the Traditional Owners’ unique spiritual connections with the seasons, lands, seas and wildlife of Redlands Coast.
  4. Away time – Redlands Coast has all the comforts of home but with a wonderful mix of hinterland stays, cosy coastal cabins and island getaways. The city is lucky enough to have unique glamping experiences as well as resorts, small boutique B&Bs and an abundance of holiday homes where the welcome mat is always out.
  5. Active time – Water sports operators offer gift certificates that can be used to hire equipment such as kayaks, dinghies, water bikes or standup paddleboards. Surf schools and charter operators offer vouchers for guided fishing tours, surfing or scuba diving lessons, as well as yacht and fishing boat charters. There are plenty of ways to enjoy Moreton Bay Marine Park.

To discover more Redlands Coast experiences, go online at visitredlandscoast.com.au or drop into the Redlands Coast Visitor Information Centre, 50 Middle Street, Cleveland. The centre is open 9am to 4pm daily (except Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Anzac Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day).
