Tickets are now on sale for this year’s Redland City Mayoral Chaplaincy Prayer Breakfast to be held on Tuesday 26 August.

Mayor Jos Mitchell said the annual event raised funds to support chaplaincy programs in local state schools.

“Last year’s event raised more than $18,500 for programs that directly benefit about 15,000 students, staff and families across the city each year,” the Mayor said.

“Chaplaincy programs provide pastoral care and wellbeing support that guides students to reach their full potential through academic achievement, social skills and building self-esteem.

“Other members of our school communities, such as families and school staff, also benefit from this support.

“Chaplaincy programs are able to continue to make a difference thanks in no small part to the many prayer breakfast supporters who have given generously each year.”

Artie Shepherd, Queensland Police Chaplain for the South Brisbane District, will be guest speaker at the 2025 Redland City Mayoral Chaplaincy Prayer Breakfast.

Guest speaker at the breakfast will be Artie Shepherd, who is Queensland Police Chaplain for the South Brisbane District, Queensland Policy Academy and more than 10 specialist operational and tactical units, providing wellbeing support to officers and their families.

Arti has also been the Honorary Chaplain for Queensland Cricket and the Brisbane Heat Big Bash League and Women’s Big Bash League franchises for 10 years.

He has been a Christian minister for almost 30 years.

The breakfast will also include entertainment and the announcement of the recipient of the annual Pastor Glen Gray Award that recognises a local chaplain who has demonstrated significant support to students, parents and school staff.

There are also sponsorship opportunities available for the event.
