For information about the new two rounds of sponsorship funding, visit our website.

If you are looking for Council sponsorship, there will be two rounds of funding available during the 2013/2014 financial year. They will be open for applications from late July 2013 and in February/March 2014 respectively.

Council will accept Round 1 sponsorship applications from 29 July to 6 September 2013 and a Sponsorship Information Session is scheduled for 20 June 2013 for all those interested in applying.

These new arrangements follow Redland City Council’s adoption of a new corporate sponsorship policy and guidelines, to take effect from 1 July 2013.

Redlands Mayor Karen Williams said Council’s Corporate Sponsorship Program has been streamlined for a fairer and more efficient disbursement of available sponsorship funds.

“I am committed to making it easier and quicker to do business with Council, and the changes in our sponsorship program will do just that,” Cr Williams said.

“Under the new arrangements, sponsorship will be distributed through two rounds of funding each financial year, instead of Council assessing applications throughout the year.

“This means the total sponsorship funding available and the number of applications will be known – at least for the second round of funding – so applications can be assessed against each other, rather than on a first-in first-served basis. It’s fairer for everyone.

“In addition, sponsorships of up to $15,000 will be able to be authorised by an internal assessment committee with larger amounts being referred to Council for approval.

“Raising this threshold from $10,000 means a quicker and more efficient assessment process.

“The sponsorship program will be managed in the much the same way Council’s community grants programs with two rounds of funding each year – but community grants are different to sponsorship – and the funding rounds will be offered at different times to avoid confusion.

“I urge those interested in applying for Council sponsorship to attend the information session on 20 June,” Cr Williams said.

The Sponsorship Information Session will cover:

  • changes to the sponsorship program
  • funding round dates
  • evaluation criteria
  • tips for submitting a successful application
  • acquittal requirements, and
  • other funding opportunities.
