By way of clarification, given media coverage about the timing of Mayor Jos Mitchell’s resignation, Council received confirmation from the former Mayor immediately prior to today’s 11.30am media conference that she had sent an earlier email formally advising of her resignation.
There had been several proactive attempts by Council across the morning to confirm the former Mayor’s social media post indicating she intended to resign.
Council had conducted a search of official email inboxes, with no email located.
