Applications are now open for Redland City Council’s Sponsorship Program.

Mayor Jos Mitchell said the program provided financial and value in-kind support for a variety of events and initiatives on Redlands Coast.

“Council offers funding each year to help local organisations, community groups and individuals hold activities that deliver benefits to our community and that represent value for money,” the Mayor said.

“These activities can include anything from festivals through to sporting, cultural and music events.

“In addition, funding is also available to support Quandamooka cultural awareness and inclusion activities such as dancing, cultural demonstrations and smoking ceremonies at sponsored events.

“Council is pleased to support our local community in delivering events that not only appeal to residents but will also attract visitors to our city.”

In 2024–2025, Council awarded $359,150 in sponsorship and $10,500 in Quandamooka Cultural Awareness Funding for 22 events.

This included GreazeFest, Stradbroke Chamber Music Festival and Redlands Coast Wedding Trail through to the Grass Roots Bull Riding world final, Queensland Triathlon Series and Straddie Salute.

“All these events provide opportunities for the community, bringing people together from Redlands Coast and beyond to enjoy a day out while also showcasing the cultural diversity of our city,” the Mayor said.

“I encourage all eligible event and activity organisers to consider applying for Council sponsorship through this new round.”

Applicants should align their initiatives and events with one or more of the program objectives, which includes increasing social connection between people, promoting collaboration and local partnerships, boosting the local economy and creating identity, a sense of place and celebration.

Applicants are encouraged to seek assistance from Council’s Community Grants Team to ensure their application meets the objective of the program and to increase the chances of being successful in receiving funding.

All applications are considered by an assessment panel, which awards funding across three categories:

  • Minor sponsorship up to $15,000
  • Major sponsorship from $15,001 to $30,000
  • Quandamooka Cultural Awareness Funding up to $1500.

Applicants can also request value in-kind support such as venue hire, temporary entertainment event permit fee, traffic control permit fee, or marketing and promotion.

Applications close on 3 August 2025.

For more information on the sponsorship program, including eligibility criteria and how to submit an application, visit Council’s Grants and sponsorship webpage or call 3829 8999.
