Be prepared to be enchanted this Christmas on Redlands Coast, with the introduction of a new lighting and sound experience in addition to festive event favourites.

Redland City Acting Mayor Julie Talty said the Redlands Coast Enchanted Christmas Garden at Redlands IndigiScapes Centre would be an exciting addition to Council’s 2026 Christmas program.

“The botanic gardens at IndigiScapes will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland with arches and tunnels lit with fairy lights, festive soundscapes, smoke and snow machines, and motion lights,” Cr Talty said.

“Some of the lighting displays will have a wildlife theme – such as butterflies, electric fireflies and bees – and there will also be a reindeer light display.

“The Enchanted Christmas Garden is sure to prove popular with residents and visitors to Redlands Coast, and will be in addition to the Christmas lighting displays that Council installs at five locations across the city.”

The Redlands Coast Enchanted Christmas Garden will run from Monday 30 November to Sunday 20 December 2026.

Tickets will range from $5 to $10 each and will be on sale soon through Council’s website at redland.qld.gov.au/Christmas

Cr Talty said Council’s Christmas program aimed to bring the community together and celebrate the unique character of Redlands Coast.

“Christmas on Redlands Coast is all about creating opportunities for residents and visitors to connect and celebrate with family and friends,” Cr Talty said.

“It is a whole-of-community celebration with a range of experiences for all ages.”

The traditional Lighting of the Christmas Tree will herald the start of the festive season over two nights on 27 and 28 November, with free carols, Santa photos and a Christmas movie.

Another new addition this year will be Santa photo pop-ups and Christmas-themed activities on Russell, Coochiemudlo and North Stradbroke islands during the December school holidays.

Santa’s Hub will return to the Redlands Coast Visitor Information Centre this year, with Santa’s phone booth, colouring-in activities and a map showing all the Christmas activations.

There will also be Christmas events and activities at Redland City Council Libraries, Redland Art Gallery, Redland Performing Arts Centre and Redlands IndigiScapes Centre.

Redland City Council is supporting community-led Christmas events across the city by hosting a central events calendar on its website.

Council will not be installing Christmas street banners this year, due to rising costs, and has redirected that money to other Christmas experiences.
