Anzac Day 2026: Council operations, road closures and Anzac Day services

Redland City Council joins the community in paying respect to the men, women and animals of the armed forces and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service of Australia and New Zealand.

All Council offices, libraries, Redland Art Gallery, Redland Performing Arts Centre and Redlands Coast Visitor Information Centre will be closed on Anzac Day, Saturday 25 April 2026.

Redlands IndigiScapes Centre, IndigiCafe, the Native Nursery and Botanic Gardens will all be closed; the walking tracks will remain open.

Redland Animal Shelter will be open from 9am to 12pm.

All recycling and waste centres will be open; check Council’s website for opening times.

Bay Islands Aquatic Centre and Cleveland Aquatic Centre will both be closed on Anzac Day.

For council-related emergencies, please phone 3829 8999.

ROAD CLOSURES

Council advises the community of the following road closures on Anzac Day.

Cleveland: Changed traffic conditions will be in place from 1am to 2pm on Saturday 25 April on Kinsail Court, Sommersea Drive, Middle Street, Passage Street, Channel Street, North Street, Fitzroy Street, Shore Street West and Shore Street North for the Cleveland Anzac Day march and service.

Road closures will be in place on Shore Street West, North Street, Fitzroy Street, Kinsail Court, Sommersea Drive, Passage Street, Channel Street and Shore Street North.

Redland Bay: Changed traffic conditions will be in place from 2am to 9am on Banana Street, Meissner Street, Outridge Street, Weinam Street and Hamilton Street on Saturday 25 April for the Redland Bay Anzac Day march and service.

A road closure will be in place on Banana and Weinam streets, between Hamilton and Meissner streets.

Council urges motorists to park in accordance with the road rules.

ANZAC DAY SERVICES

The following Anzac Day services are being held across Redlands Coast:

Cleveland

Dawn service parade: 5.20am – Redlands RSL, 8 Passage Street, Cleveland to Anzac Centenary Park, Shore Street West, Cleveland.

Dawn service commemorations: 5.30am – Anzac Centenary Park, Shore Street West, Cleveland.

Main parade commences: 10.20am – Shore Street West into Anzac Centenary Park, Cleveland.

Main commemorative service: 11am – Anzac Centenary Park, Shore Street West, Cleveland.

Redland Bay

Dawn parade: 4.45am – from corner of Banana and Weinam Streets, Redland Bay to Cenotaph, Neville Stafford Park, Banana Street, Redland Bay

Dawn service: 5am – Cenotaph at Neville Stafford Park, Banana Street, Redland Bay.

North Stradbroke Island

March to cenotaph: 5.10am – Assemble at butcher shop on Welsby Street, Dunwich for march to cenotaph, Welsby Street, Dunwich.

Dawn service: 5.30am – Cenotaph, Welsby Street, Dunwich.

Main march commences: 10.45am – Assemble at 10.15am at Dunwich State School, Welsby Street, Dunwich for march to cenotaph.

Main commemorative service: 11am – Cenotaph, Welsby Street, Dunwich.

Macleay Island

March to cenotaph: 5.15am – Corner of Kate and Beelong streets, Macleay Island to cenotaph at Pat’s Park, Macleay Island.

Dawn service: 5.30am – Cenotaph, Pat’s Park, corner of Kate and Beelong Streets, Macleay Island.

Coochiemudlo Island

Dawn service: 5.30am – Anzac Memorial, Main Beach, Coochiemudlo Island.

Karragarra Island

Anzac Day Sunset Tribute: 4pm – Karragarra Beach Pavilion.

Russell Island

Dawn service: 5.30am – Russell Island Cenotaph, Anzac Drive.

March to cenotaph: 10am ­– Corner of Cestrum Street and Canaipa Road to cenotaph, Anzac Drive, Russell Island.

Main commemorative service: 10.30am – Cenotaph, Anzac Drive, Russell Island.

Lamb Island

Dawn service: 4.45am – Cenotaph adjacent to Lamb Island Recreation Club, Lucas Drive.

North Redland Youth Leaders service

Scouts, Guides, Cadets and school captains assemble: 7.45 am – Wellington Point State High School Assembly Hall, access via Anson Road carpark.

Service commences: 8am – Wellington Point State High School Assembly Hall.
