Nominations are open for the 2026 Redlands Coast Australia Day Awards – the perfect opportunity to celebrate our local community heroes.

Redland City Mayor Jos Mitchell said the Council-run awards provided an opportunity to recognise individuals and community organisations for their valuable contributions.

“These awards help shine a light on the many amazing people who are making a real difference across all areas of Redlands Coast,” the Mayor said.

“Some of these people may be well known and highly visible, but others may be less obvious as they work behind-the-scenes giving freely of their time, knowledge and enthusiasm to improve the welfare and wellbeing of the community.

“Hundreds of local residents have been recognised and honoured through the Redlands Coast Australia Day Awards over the years and I urge everyone to consider nominating an inspirational resident for the 2026 awards.

“Last year’s recipients included a community advocate for women and young people, a supporter of vulnerable children and foster families, and a long-term volunteer in a wide range of community organisations.”

The nine award categories in the Redlands Coast Australia Day Awards are:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Senior Citizen of the Year
  • Community Organisation Award
  • Local Hero Award
  • Cultural Award
  • Environment and Sustainability Award
  • Sports Award
  • Reconciliation Award.

For information on each category and to submit a nomination, visit Council’s website.

Nominations close on 14 November 2025.

Finalists will be notified and invited to attend the 2026 Redlands Coast Australia Day Awards ceremony to be held in January 2026.
