Seniors Month on Redlands Coast will be celebrated throughout October with a diverse program of events and activities.
Redland City Mayor Jos Mitchell said the month was an opportunity to celebrate older residents and their ongoing contributions.
“Redland City Council is continuing to work with our community to ensure that ageing on Redlands Coast is a positive experience,” the Mayor said.
“Council aims to create environments that enable older adults to live active fulfilling lives and continue to participate in the community.
“Council previously adopted the Redlands Coast Age-friendly Action Plan in 2021 and I look forward to its continuation and renewal.
“Activities being held during Seniors Month provide opportunities for people to engage and connect and help to reduce social isolation that can sometimes be felt among our older residents.
“There are opportunities to participate in craft activities and author talks, focus on health and wellbeing or be entertained with music and dance.”
