Redland City Councillor Julie Talty re-elected as Deputy Mayor

Redland City Council would like to announce that Division 6 Councillor Julie Talty will continue in the role of Deputy Mayor of Redland City.

Cr Talty was re-elected to the role at Council’s General Meeting held on Wednesday 19 March 2025.

Mayor Jos Mitchell congratulated Cr Talty on being returned as Deputy Mayor.

“Cr Talty brings more than three terms of experience to the role of Councillor, and I acknowledge her dedication to the residents of Division 6,” the Mayor said.

“Redlands Coast is a special place and we have seen the power of a collaborative approach for the best outcomes for our community”.

Cr Talty said she was honoured to be re-elected to the position of Deputy Mayor.

“I look forward to working with the Mayor and my fellow Councillors to deliver for our community,” she said.

“Just last week we saw what a special place Redlands Coast is as the city was impacted by a cyclone, and people from across the city came together to help one another.

“I feel privileged to continue as Deputy Mayor, especially at this time, to not only help our city recover and move forward but to continue working in this role to help meet the needs of our community.”
