Incidents at Redland Bay – 13 September 2024

Redland City Council is responding to two incidents that occurred within the Weinam Creek Priority Development Area at Redland Bay this morning.

Due to strong winds, a section of temporary construction fencing fell and injured a pedestrian.

An ambulance was called and transported the pedestrian to hospital.

In a separate incident, an Energex light pole near the secure carpark adjacent to the ferry terminal fell and damaged five vehicles.

Energex has left cards on the vehicles to advise of the damage caused by their pole and provided a contact number to call.

Energex has removed the fallen pole, and a Council street sweeper has cleaned up the broken glass.

Energex has advised Council they will check all other poles in the vicinity,

Council officers are assisting Energex in contacting the owners of the vehicles.
