Council Christmas closure dates 2017-2018

All non-essential Council services will close Friday 22 December 2017 from close of business, and reopen Tuesday 2 January 2018. This includes Customer Service Centres and mainland libraries.

The Community Piano will be located in the Cleveland Library during Council’s Christmas closure.

  • Redland Art Gallery, Cleveland will be closed from Sunday 24 December 2017, reopening Tuesday 2 January.
  • Redland Art Gallery, Capalaba will be closed from Saturday 23 December 2017, reopening Tuesday 2 January.
  • Redland Performing Arts Centre Box Office will be closed from 4pm Friday 22 December, reopening at 10am Monday 8 January 2018. Tickets can be purchased through the RPAC website during this time.
  • Redlands IndigiScapes and Visitor Information Centre (including Tea Garden cafe) will be closed Christmas day only.
  • Waste transfer stations will be closed Christmas day only.
  • Waste collection services will continue as usual, with Christmas day bin collections beginning 5am. Please make sure your bins are out the night before.
  • RecycleWorld will be closed from 26 December 2016, reopening Saturday 6 January 2018.
  • Animal Shelter will be closed Christmas day only. Limited hours apply (9am-12pm) from Saturday 23 December 2017 until Monday 1 January 2018.
  • Home Assist Secure will be closed from 4pm Friday 22 December, reopening at 8am Tuesday 2 January 2018.

Full list of library closures (During closures no items will be due and return chutes will be closed):

Mainland libraries: Capalaba, Cleveland and Victoria Point Libraries will be closed from 5pm Friday 22 December until 9am Tuesday 2 January.

Mobile Library closure: last stop will be Point Talburpin, closing at 10.30am Friday 22 December. The Mobile Library will reopen on Wednesday 3 January 9.30am at Redland Bay.

Island libraries

  • Amity Point Library: closed from 4:30pm Thursday 21 December until 9am Wednesday 3 January
  • Dunwich Library: closed from 5pm Thursday 21 December until 9am Tuesday 2 January
  • Point Lookout Library: closed from 5pm Friday 22 December until 10am Tuesday 2 January
  • Russell Island Library: closed from 5pm Friday 22 December until 9.30am Wednesday 3 January
