The stories culture and traditions of NAIDOC Week will be celebrated when Redland Performing Arts Centre (RPAC) hosts its Songlines in Redlands: A NAIDOC Showcase on Sunday 10 July.

Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said NAIDOC Week was an annual celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history, and this year runs from 3 -10 July 2016.

“The 2016 theme Songlines: The living Narrative of our Nation honours the dreaming tracks or ‘songlines’ that tell the stories of when the rivers, lakes, plants, land-formations and living creatures were created,” she said. “From 2 – 4.30pm residents can come along for a free community celebration featuring art and performances that demonstrate the strong connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have with the Redlands.
