Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) are urging residents in south east, south west and Brisbane regions – including all parts of Redland City – to be vigilant with heightened fire conditions predicted today and on the weekend.

People are advised to take extra care when using power tools that might spark into flammable vegetation and should not throw cigarette butts out of car windows.

All fires and any suspicious behaviour around bushfires should be reported immediately.
