A new Christmas CD ‘Mercy Tree’ goes on sale Monday with the aim of raising funds for supporting victims of domestic and family violence in Redlands.
This Redland City Choir project is a mix of nostalgic and sacred songs, with special guest vocalists Mayor Karen Williams, Kym Hebblewhite, Hayley Kitchener, Anita Taylor, Jim Pollock, Ken McDonald, Brylee Langley (who also created the album’s cover art) and special guest musicians.
The album brings to life the beauty of favourite hymns of past including Amazing Grace, Be Thou My Vision, He’s Got the Whole World.
Mayor Karen Williams sings Amazing Grace complete with African drums and an Irish medley Danny Boy with the choir.
Mercy Tree is on sale for $15 from Monday next week at Redland City Council libraries at Capalaba, Cleveland and Victoria Point and also Council’s Cleveland and Capalaba customer service centres.
All proceeds going to support housing for victims of domestic and family violence.
