Final tickets are now available for Redland City’s third Dîner en Rouge on Saturday 13 May.

The gala event, which coincides with Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, is set to shine as media personalities and entertainers throw their support behind the domestic and family violence fundraiser.

Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said the dinner, at a mystery destination, was being supported by high-profile guests who wanted to highlight the importance of the issue.

“Tickets are available until Thursday 11 May but they are limited, so you will need to get in quick to be part of this exceptional event,’’ Cr Williams said.

“Well-known media personalities Heather Foord and Darren Curtis will be our Masters of Ceremony, with internationally-acclaimed soprano Mirusia coming home to the Redlands to perform.

Mirusia will be performing live at Diner en rouge.

“You also will get to hear from inspirational speakers while enjoying a sumptuous meal.

“As part of the event, there’s also the chance to win a stunning South Sea white pearl pendant set in 18 carat white gold from Stephen Dibb Jewellery valued at more than $2000, as well as two nights’ accommodation and return barge transfers to Straddie from Stradbroke Island Holidays.

“Raffle tickets are $10 from Council customer service desks and the Redland Performing Arts Centre Box Office and are available to anyone, including those not attending the dinner.

“We can still welcome more guests and would love to have a full house for this very special night in our City.”

Cr Williams said Redland City Council was proud to partner with local Zonta clubs, Soroptimist International, Rotary Club of Cleveland, Redland Foundation and other local domestic and family violence service advocates to present the event.

“Dîner en Rouge’s location will again be kept secret until the night, in recognition that domestic and family violence often occurs in secret,’’ she said.

Guest speakers will include the Honourable Shannon Fentiman MP, Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence, Betty Taylor CEO of Red Rose Foundation and Maryann Talia Pau of the 1 Million Stars Project.

All proceeds will go to supporting Redlanders affected by domestic and family violence.
