QFES has issued an ‘Advice’ alert. Residents should stay tuned to social media and local radio for updates and review their bushfire plan.

Smoke may affect residents and motorists in the area. Residents should close their doors and windows and keep medication close by if suffering from a respiratory condition.

Residents are advised to call Triple Zero (000) if their property comes under threat.

Motorists should use caution and drive to conditions.

Mainland residents may also notice smoky conditions due to the fire on Russell Island and an unrelated fire burning on Brisbane’s northside at Nudgee Beach and Boondall Wetlands.

There is currently no fire threat on the mainland area of Redland City.

Regular updated information will be provided on the Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFS) website or listen to local radio.
