The call is out for applications to Redland City Council’s Community Grants Program, an initiative that has contributed more than $500,000 towards community projects the last year alone.
Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said now was the time for community groups and individuals to put forward projects for which they sought funding support.
“We are proud to be able to partner with our community, with our second round of community grants funding for this financial year taking submissions until Friday 3 March 2017,” Cr Williams said.

“I think many people would be surprised at the range of projects eligible for funding…from on-the-ground environmental projects to building capacity within non-profit community organisations.
“Competition for funding is fierce and we will continue to support projects that deliver clear benefits to the community.
“I really urge anyone working for the Redlands community to go to the Redland City Council website while submissions are open and see if we can help them.”
In the last round of grants awarded, projects ranged from conserving rare native macadamia trees and Richmond Birdwing butterflies, to funding the development of strategic plans for arts, sport and social programs.
“Over the years this highly successful program has focused on projects that support the Redlands lifestyle and environment, and this will continue,” Cr Williams said.
“Up to $10,000 is available for successful applications, depending on the grant category.
“If you have an idea or project that may further enrich our community, we want to hear from you.”
The program is offered in two rounds, with the current round the final opportunity to apply in the 2016-17 financial year.
Running simultaneously with Council’s Community Grants round is the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) round, a Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and Redland City Council partnership to support local arts and culture. RADF submissions are also open until Friday 3 March.

Redland City Council’s Sponsorship Program, which specifically supports local community events, will also open soon and take applications from Monday 20 February until Friday 24 March 2017.
