Redland Residents should prepare for a wet Easter long-weekend, with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting heavy rain and possible storms.
Some local roads are already flooded and with more rain expected over the coming days it is possible for more roads to be affected. Flooded roads and causeways can be dangerous so it is important that everyone remembers the golden rule – if it’s flooded forget it.
Heavy rainfall may also cause drains, creeks and waterways to swell with the potential for strong flowing water, so everyone is reminded to stay out of these dangerous areas.
Leslie Harrison dam regularly spills during heavy rain, so anyone downstream of the dam should exercise caution near waterways and floodplains due to the potential for fast flowing or deep water that could be a safety hazard.
