Council has closed all sports fields due to the significant rain expected over the next 24 to 48 hours. It is highly likely that fields will not be open for any use over the weekend however Council officers will continue to monitor the field conditions and will advise as soon as fields can be open.

With the forecast for high winds clubs need to ensure that the clubs facilities and equipment are adequate secure to prevent any object that might become airborne. In particular please check tables, chairs, bins and any items that might be around sheds or the sides of buildings.

This has been done in the interest of player safety. Clubs also need to ensure grounds are not damaged, which could see the playing surface taken out of action for maintenance for a number of weeks.
