Redland City Mayor Karen Williams has announced a major fundraising event to support Redlanders affected by domestic and family violence.

Cr Williams said ‘Dîner en Rouge’ to be held from 6:30pm on Saturday 29 November, would be a night of fine food to raise funds for a cause dear to her heart.

“Even in a City as beautiful as ours this is an important issue, with Redlands accounting for around three per cent of all domestic and family violence protection orders applied for across Queensland,” Cr Williams said.

“Dîner en Rouge will be a night where individuals and businesses can come together, raise valuable funds and show their support for Redlanders affected by domestic and family violence.

‘It will be an outdoor formal dining experience with a red and white theme – red symbolising our City and white in recognition of White Ribbon Day on 25 November, a national campaign to stop violence against women.

“612 ABC Brisbane’s Spencer Howson has agreed to be Master of Ceremonies at the dinner.

“All proceeds from the evening will go to our event partners, Redlands Domestic and Family Violence Action Group and Zonta clubs, with the ultimate goal of having a coordinated regional domestic and family violence service in the Redlands.

“In the lead-up to event we would also love to hear from individuals and businesses who would like to show their commitment to this cause by becoming an event sponsor.”

Guests will meet at Cleveland Library Square before moving to a secret location for a locally produced banquet, beverages, entertainment and auctions.

Ticket prices for Dîner en Rouge are $170 each or $1600 for a table of 10.

Tickets are available through Redland Performing Arts Centre (RPAC) ticketing:
