Latest advice from QFES for Southern Moreton Bay Islands…

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) are asking residents located on Russell Island, particularly around Canaipa Point Drive, Macleay Island, Lamb Island and Karragarra Island to remain vigilant with flying embers reported in the area.

The wind change this afternoon has resulted in a large smoke hazard in the area and embers to potentially fall. Residents should clear around their properties, monitor conditions closely and if possible, extinguish any small spot fires. If they are concerned their property is under threat they should call triple zero (000) immediately.
