Emily Toms, a school chaplain with more than 25 years’ experience working with and supporting young people, will be guest speaker at this year’s Redland City Mayoral Chaplaincy Prayer Breakfast on Thursday 20 August 2026.
Redland City Acting Mayor Julie Talty said the annual event raised vital funds for chaplaincy programs in state schools on Redlands Coast.
“These programs help to make a difference in the lives of students, their families and school communities, so I am delighted we will have the opportunity to hear from one of our city’s school chaplains at this year’s breakfast,” Cr Talty said.

“Emily Toms is currently school chaplain at Victoria Point and Scenic Shores state schools.
“She has volunteered for more than two decades with children’s and youth ministries, camps and community programs, and has also worked in the aged care and disability sectors.”
The breakfast will include entertainment and the announcement of the annual Pastor Glen Gray Award, which recognises a local chaplain who has demonstrated significant support to students, parents and school staff.
